Abuse an Iraqi Day
Please listen to this* song while reading the post.
I suggest that we declare an International day called “Abuse An Iraqi Youm” (aaiy). Youm means day in Arabic. On that day everybody around the world will vow to find a way to abuse an Iraqi somehow. The abuse can be verbal, physical or material … good examples of appropriate behavior on that day would be a punch in the face, mocking statement at the expense of your favorite Iraqi or smashing of his/her car. Given the fact that there are 5 million Iraqis living outside of Iraq, it can’t be that difficult to find an Iraqi to abuse. In really difficult circumstances when you are in a remote Island somewhere and you just can’t find an Iraqi to abuse, you can always leave juicy creative hate comments on you favorite Iraqi blog. Furthermore, I think that we should make Lynndie England (The now famous American Soldier photographed joyfully pointing at the no longer privates of Iraqi prisoners) the official international ambassador of aaiy festivities. She can promote the concept world wide and give presentations on proper aaiy techniques. I think that Lynndie is the appropriate person because everybody recognizes her face and she has proven to be the poster image of the aaiy concept. I don’t understand why she is being sent to jail, when she obviously has been way ahead of her time on the aaiy revolution.
It was illegal for me to send money or medications to my own family living in Iraq during the sanctions. Those who ignored the sanctions and found ways to help their own relatives were risking imprisonment. Yet, today we discover that Shalfat Annan, his son and his associates at U.N. were getting kickbacks in return for deals approved in the oil for food program. American companies benefited by buying oil at a cheaper price, and Saddam managed to pocket billions. While people in Iraq were starving. These people pocketed blood money and disgust me to the core. Now we hear the members of the previous Iraqi interim government might have embezzled 2 billion dollars. Rumors of reconstruction money being mishandled by American companies. Dear Zarqawi, few days ago has declared on all Shea'a in Iraq. Offcourse Shea'a are only 60% of the Iraqi population .... how many millions is that? .... and the local "peace" camp call the likes of him resistance and continue to demand that the American Army withdraw immediatly from Iraq without asking the crucial question of "What would happen in the case of US withdrawal from Iraq? Is it in the best interest of the Iraqi people at this particular moment?" .... offcourse that doesn't matter when your goal is to prove to the world that Bush made a mistake. Two days ago I was reading an article about a website that collects pictures sent from American soldiers of charred dead bodies of Iraqis. Apparently you can make money selling pictures of charred dead Iraqi bodies. American values at work.
A big fuck you to the whole world. The left the right, eastern, western, christians and muslims.
Therfore I suggest the everybody takes out whatever need they have to abuse Iraqis on one particular day and vow that the rest of the year they will abuse, torture, loot, talk in the name, profiteer and pick on some other nationality. I think it will solve lots of problems.
Over time we can downgrade aaiy activities to pie throwing and dunking into a pool but for now the world is going for our blood. So lets be realistic .... if we can reduce it to one day in the year it will be an improvement.

6:31 AMDear Ihath,
Each person is an image of God, no matter how imperfect and distorted that image is for whatever reasons. When I abuse someone, it is the same as abusing God.
"And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me." (Matt. 25:40)
"It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones." (Luke 17:2)
I don't believe people would knowingly abuse the Lord face-to-face with him. We would behave our best. What we don't realize (or sometimes forget), is that we are practically face-to-face with him every time we interact with another person.
So I hope I have blessed you rather than cursed you via my comments on your blog. I never meant to abuse you with my fun pokes (e.g., asking for a pic of you in a bikini). I don't know what a normal Iraqi Canadian woman's sensibilities are, so I take my chances sometimes. Assuming I have offended you, I now beg your forgiveness. I will be more careful and respectful in the future.
BTW, maybe it's time for another one of your stories?

Dear Don't shoot, My name is Ala'a and I am from the Nineveh Province of Iraq. I have started a new Blog intending to tell others what it is like to be a child living and growing up in Iraq and suffering under UN sanctions, Saddam, wars, American invasion, and now terrorists. I hope to give a voice to the millions of Iraqi children all who have suffered and many who have died. I hope to tell about their lives and share their stories so the world can know what life is like for children in Iraq. I hope you might find some time to visit my Blog www.childrensvoiceiraqkids.blogspot.com . If you like what I am trying to do I hope you will link to my blog from yours and maybe tell your readers about "Children's Voice From Iraq" I enjoy reading your blog and I would be interested in any comments, suggestions or stories you might have for my Blog. I will hope to hear from you. Thank you very much! Salam, Ala'a

Later,
Yes it was offensive and yes you are forgiven.

Dear ihath,
So you say "fuck everyone"? Well then, who will you turn to for help? You cannot have it both ways: you obviously do not want America to occupy Iraq but you don't want the soldiers to leave in case civil wars breaks out. You cannot have your cake and eat it: make a decision.
Why do you think everyone is out to "get" Iraq and Iraqis? Because somebody left their droppings on your comment page? Because neither the "left" or the "right" have got it good enough for you to sign off? Well I personally have never left abusive comments, but this is the internet and you should come to expect to encounter a few idiots along the way.
You are giving up because nothing is improving in Iraq. Well, in order for things to improve, the conflicts must be resolved. One conflict is the presence of foreign soldiers/fighters and one step towards improvement is their removal. I hope things improve, but the soldiers will not leave the world's second largest oil reserve alone and the terrorism will continue.
I will ask you this though: do you notice how few suicide bombings are actually targetted at coalition forces? They are either against the Iraqi police or civilians...how is this possible when there are over 150,000 possible primary targets available? Its not like a suicide bomber will fear being shot or killed before carrying out the attack. Since they just found two british soldiers impersonating Iraqis while driving around with weapons (and apparanetly above the law), I would not doubt that some of the chaos is in fact directly created by various covert operations by the coalition forces themselves. After all, if Iraq breaks out in peace, is there any need to stay????

I read your blog often, Ihath, and I feel I am a more educated person because of it. The American media shows little of what you describe in the terms in which you describe it; things we do here make me ashamed to wear the American tag, and things we do on foreign soil make me want to disown my country affiliation.
Just know that one American won't be participating in any abuse of anybody but will instead be retreating in the wake of shameful feelings because of what her brethren might be doing.
9:05 AM
why is it always bash america today, hate america tomorrow with you? like 1 or 2 companies from the US got kickbacks from saddam, yet you constantly mention this instead of the hundreds of companies from russia, germany, france, and other parts of the middle east that received 99.9% of the kickbacks. at least try to restrain your sick and unhealthy hatred for america, me, and my family for one day. god help your disturbed soul.

Anon;
You said "I would not doubt that some of the chaos is in fact directly created by various covert operations by the coalition forces themselves."
That's right, Anon. Middle-easterners are never responsible for the bad things that happen in their countries. It's either the Zionists, the CIA, or covert conspiracies hatched by Westerners in their numerous dens of vice.
6:58 AM
Jenny;
You said "and things we do on foreign soil make me want to disown my country affiliation"
Then please do. No one is stopping you.

The music link doesn't work anymore!
Can you re-post it?
Oh yes, I saw several web-sites post about the "war-porn" story, and I think I read that the guy who runs it got busted.
But there are plenty of other sites that post pix of torn and bloody bodies.

Ihath, you're learning some morality, good.
Now when you can say a hearty "Fuck you!" to those old hate mongering mass murders, shiek Yassin and Arafat that you were praising before, you might actually have learned to be a moral person.
