Keep painting (this is too funny, when I sent you that other picture, I almost sent the one I drew at the same time - two roosters with Bush conducting a cock-fight. I drew it from a newspaper photo - Bush, Ariel and OMG, I've forgotten the other guys name already - the Palestinian. Anyway, not that it matters. None of them are exactly running the show anymore).
Sorry, I'm posting this anonymously because someone else knows the drawing and I'm being a prude about keeping this between ourselves. Will send another drawing later, so you know it's me and not some other twerp ripping off our exchange.
Dear Mystery Anonymous, This painting is a first in a series of three each depicting aspects of my relationship with my husband. This one represents defiance. Everybody who knows me in person is able to guess which one of the two figures represents me. My goal was to make both peacocks intensly beautiful in their defiance. I would love to see pictures of all your art work. So do share
But I have shared! I bared my soul to you privately. Those are pictures only a handful of people have seen. Did you not receive either of them?
There's a quote by an artist I admire - and it's always struck me deep because it's exactly the way I felt when I gave up showing the stuff publically so please don't expect me to publish anything for all the world to see, for a start I don't have any recent work.
Anyway, the quote. The quote was in response to a journalist asking questions of an artist and went something like "every time I show a piece of work, I bare my soul - do you want me to sell it as well?"
I know I know it would probably sound awfully pretentious if you read it out of context, but if you've been there it's like a kindred knife in the heart.
Both your peacocks are male - I guess you must feel your husband and you treat each other equally. You are very lucky.
Lord if there is one, this is a battle. Are we to talk to each other or destroy one another? (Dan George).
12:10 PMThis is really good. I think you are developing an aptitude for composition.
Keep it up. You have talent.

You can actually paint, you know that don't you.

I still suspect her children are helping her to paint. Nice colors.

Dear Mystery Anonymous,
I received both, but I am greedy and would like to see more.
4:48 PM
Well, ok, but that means I'll have to start digging into the really dark and depressing pile.
I'll send one when I have a moment.
3:35 AM
Nice colors!
7:15 AM
Cool!
