The co-worker Doug that you refer to is my brother-in-law, and he gave me your book for Christmas with a note about how he thought I would enjoy it. As I happily admit to being an addict to books it is usually a safe bet to give me a book, but this was truly a good choice for me. It was intriguing, and extremely enlighting for a west coast born and rasied Canadian woman. I try hard to live globally, but you are right in that there is so much history to understand about the conflicts that everyone could be an expert. And I read books like yours and know I completely failed at truly understanding what I've heard on the news. You have given me an eye-opening perspective, not all I liked to hear, and not all I agreed with, even though much of it I did and some of it I felt like crying through and some made me laugh, but worth sitting down and not getting up for three and a half hours till I finished it straight through. Of course now I feel as if I'm seeing cross-eyed and my back is sore, so I will finish by saying thank you for writing this book, and good luck on finding your goal for 2007.
And if you see Doug tell him that Shannon said thank you for the book.
If that comet veered just a miniscule amount by galactic proportions to be headed directly to earth, all our problems on earth will suddenly seem insignificant.
Thanks for this update on comet McNaught. My husband and I saw it and took pictures of it from our balcony. We wondered what could it be but then forgot about it, until I now saw the pictures here on your blog today!

Shannon,
Thank you for your super sweet comment. It has been an honor to work with the man you call your brother in-law.
